The iPhone 16 Pro Flipkart Cut Did Not Last

iPhone 16 Pro Flipkart listings are back at Rs 1,09,900 after the 2025 Rs 69,999 cut, while October 9’s sale leads with the iPhone 17.

Flipkart lists the iPhone 16 Pro 128GB at Rs 1,09,900, after advertising the same phone at Rs 69,999 in the September 2025 Big Billion Days sale. That older tag, Rs 49,901 under the Rs 1,19,900 launch price, is still the number people type into search.

Apple’s India shop has already dropped the 16 Pro. The next Big Billion Days sale opens on October 9 with the iPhone 17 in the window, not a rerun of last year’s Pro price.

Last Year’s Rs 69,999 Cut Did Not Stick

On 19 September 2025, Flipkart teased iPhone deals for Big Billion Days, which went live on 23 September 2025. The 128GB iPhone 16 Pro was the poster: Rs 69,999 against a launch price of Rs 1,19,900, a cut of Rs 49,901. The larger Pro Max was sold even harder on paper.

The 256GB iPhone 16 Pro Max, launched at Rs 1,44,900, was advertised at Rs 89,999. That figure included a Rs 5,000 bank discount on select credit cards, for total savings of Rs 54,901. The base iPhone 16 was listed at Rs 51,999, down Rs 17,901 from Rs 69,900. The iPhone 14 was pushed to Rs 39,999 from Rs 79,900, a Rs 39,901 cut that included a Rs 2,000 bank offer.

THE SEPTEMBER 2025 IPHONE TAGS

  • iPhone 16 Pro Max: Rs 89,999 from Rs 1,44,900, including Rs 5,000 off on select bank cards, for savings of Rs 54,901.
  • iPhone 16 Pro 128GB: Rs 69,999 from Rs 1,19,900, a straight Rs 49,901 cut on the launch price.
  • iPhone 16 128GB: Rs 51,999 from Rs 69,900, a Rs 17,901 reduction.
  • iPhone 14 128GB: Rs 39,999 from Rs 79,900, including a Rs 2,000 bank offer, for savings of Rs 39,901.

Those numbers did what sale numbers are built to do. They filled carts. They also sat on thin stock. Confirmed 16 Pro orders were cancelled after checkout, with the platform citing seller quantity limits and logistical constraints, and some buyers who wanted the 256GB Pro paid nearer Rs 80,000 once the Rs 69,999 units were gone.

What the iPhone 16 Pro Costs on Flipkart Now

The 128GB iPhone 16 Pro is not Rs 69,999 on Flipkart. The product page has listed the 128GB iPhone 16 Pro at Rs 1,09,900, which is Rs 39,901 above the 2025 sale tag. A Rs 4,000 bank offer takes the buy price to Rs 1,05,900, still Rs 35,901 above last year’s advertised figure, and the page adds a Rs 299 Protect Promise fee on top.

Against the original Rs 1,19,900 launch price, the live list is Rs 10,000 lower, or Rs 14,000 lower after the bank cut. That is a different deal from a Rs 49,901 headline. The Pro Max has moved the same way. Flipkart shows the 256GB iPhone 16 Pro Max at Rs 1,34,900, or Rs 1,30,900 with a bank offer, which is Rs 44,901 above the Rs 89,999 sale price from September 2025.

IPHONE 16 PRICES, 2025 SALE VS FLIPKART NOW

Model Sept 2025 BBD advertised Flipkart list now With bank offer now
iPhone 16 128GB Rs 51,999 Rs 69,900 Rs 66,405
iPhone 16 Pro 128GB Rs 69,999 Rs 1,09,900 Rs 1,05,900
iPhone 16 Pro Max 256GB Rs 89,999 Rs 1,34,900 Rs 1,30,900

The base iPhone 16 is the cleaner comparison, because Flipkart still sells it every day at Rs 69,900, which was Apple’s old list. After a Rs 3,495 Flipkart Axis Bank cut, that phone is Rs 66,405. Last September’s Rs 51,999 sale tag is the one that vanished. The Pro never settled at the sale price at all. It climbed back toward a lakh while the non-Pro sat on the old MRP.

Apple Pulled the Pro From Its India Shop

Apple’s India store no longer sells the iPhone 16 Pro. The shop’s current board is the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone Air, the iPhone 17, the iPhone 17e, the iPhone 16, and the foldable iPhone Duo. Anyone who wants a 16 Pro is buying leftover retailer stock, not a phone Apple is still pricing as its own.

That gap opened after the iPhone 18 Pro launch in September 2026, when Apple also raised the phones it still carries. The site says the iPhone 16 now starts at Rs 89,900, up Rs 20,000 from the old Rs 69,900 list. The iPhone 17 is Rs 99,900, up Rs 17,000 from Rs 82,900. The iPhone 17e is Rs 79,900. The iPhone Air is Rs 1,49,900. Selected models still carry up to Rs 7,000 instant cashback with eligible cards.

APPLE INDIA’S CURRENT IPHONE BOARD

  • iPhone 18 Pro: From Rs 1,64,900, with the Pro Max from Rs 1,79,900.
  • iPhone Air: Rs 1,49,900.
  • iPhone 17: Rs 99,900, after a Rs 17,000 rise from Rs 82,900.
  • iPhone 17e: Rs 79,900.
  • iPhone 16: Rs 89,900, after a Rs 20,000 rise from Rs 69,900.
  • iPhone Duo: From Rs 2,99,900, with pre-orders listed for 16 October.

Flipkart did not follow Apple’s new Rs 89,900 tag on the base 16. It left that phone at Rs 69,900, so the “Rs 20,000 off” you see ahead of the sale is a cut against a list Apple just raised. Neil Shah, vice president of research at Counterpoint Research, said some buyers purchased before those hikes and a notable group is still holding back from the festive sales. The 16 Pro sits outside that official board, which is why its Flipkart price can move without Apple reprinting an MRP.

The Trade-In Chip Inside Newer Pro Checkouts

The 16 Pro’s useful number in 2026 is not the buy price. It is the exchange line. Flipkart checkout pages have shown a maximum exchange value of up to Rs 68,250 on an iPhone 16 Pro toward a newer Pro. The iPhone 17 Pro 256GB is listed at Rs 1,34,900. The iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB is listed at Rs 1,49,900. Stack a full 16 Pro exchange on either of those, add a card cut, and the screen shows a new Pro for a fraction of list.

That fraction is a best case. It assumes the old phone is graded at the cap, the pin code qualifies, and the card offer applies. Delivery agents then argue condition at the door, and “flawless” quotes get walked down. Open-box checks on the new handset add a second fight over whether the replacement is accepted. The Rs 68,250 line is a ceiling Flipkart can print. It is not a payout you should treat as cash.

People who did get a 16 Pro near Rs 69,999 in September 2025 now sit on the other side of that quote. A max exchange of Rs 68,250 against a phone that was advertised at Rs 69,999 is a near wash on paper, before grade-downs. That is the quiet second life of last year’s sale: the units Flipkart needed to move became the subsidy for this year’s 17 Pro and 18 Pro tickets.

Bank Offers Still Write the Sticker

Every loud iPhone number in this cycle is a stack. The 2025 Pro Max “Rs 54,901 off” figure was Rs 5,000 of bank money plus a cut from an MRP almost nobody paid at full tilt. The live 16 Pro “buy at Rs 1,05,900” line is the Rs 1,09,900 list minus Rs 4,000 on a qualifying card. The base 16’s Rs 66,405 is Rs 69,900 minus Rs 3,495 for Flipkart Axis Bank cardholders.

Big Billion Days 2026 is being sold the same way. Flipkart’s sale page has listed up to 10 percent instant discount on eligible Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards. Digit’s 26 September 2026 deal note put the iPhone 17 at Rs 84,999 in the sale, then Rs 2,000 more off for ICICI and Axis credit cards, then up to Rs 3,000 as an exchange bonus, which is how the platform reaches Rs 79,999. Miss the card, and you are on Rs 84,999. Miss the exchange bonus, and you never see Rs 79,999.

Apple runs its own version in parallel: up to Rs 7,000 instant cashback on selected iPhones with eligible cards, plus no-cost EMI for up to six months. The iPhone Air has been teased with up to Rs 7,000 off on EMI through Axis, ICICI and SBI. That is not a lower MRP. It is a filter that sends the lowest ticket to shoppers who already hold the right card and, often, a phone worth trading.

October 9 Puts the iPhone 17 in the Window

Flipkart Plus, Black and Flipkart credit card holders get early access from midnight on 8 October 2026. Everyone else gets the sale on 9 October 2026. A curtain-raiser has already put some products at sale prices about five days early. The iPhone deals Flipkart has actually named so far are the 17 and the 15, not a new 16 Pro floor.

WHAT WE KNOW

  • Sale dates: Early access on 8 October 2026, main sale on 9 October 2026.
  • iPhone 17: Rs 84,999 in the sale, Rs 79,999 if a Rs 2,000 ICICI or Axis cut and a Rs 3,000 exchange bonus both apply, against Apple’s Rs 99,900 list, a gap of Rs 14,901 on the Rs 84,999 ticket.
  • iPhone 15: Rs 67,999 in the sale from Rs 74,900, plus Rs 1,000 on ICICI or Axis cards and up to Rs 3,000 as an exchange bonus.
  • iPhone 16 Pro live list: Rs 1,09,900, or Rs 1,05,900 with Rs 4,000 off on a qualifying card.

WHAT IS UNCONFIRMED

  • A 16 Pro BBD tag: Flipkart has not published a fresh 16 Pro sale price the way it has for the 17 and the 15, and Digit’s 26 September note said other iPhones depend on stock.
  • Any guaranteed exchange payout: The Rs 68,250 16 Pro figure is a shown maximum, not a locked credit.

HOW THE 16 PRO MOVED FROM SALE BAIT TO TRADE-IN

  1. 19 September 2025: Flipkart teases the 16 Pro at Rs 69,999 and the 16 Pro Max at Rs 89,999 for Big Billion Days.
  2. 23 September 2025: The sale goes live; the Rs 69,999 Pro tag draws carts, then cancellations on thin seller stock.
  3. 10 September 2026: After the iPhone 18 Pro launch, Apple raises the iPhone 16 to Rs 89,900 and the iPhone 17 to Rs 99,900, and drops the 16 Pro from its own shop.
  4. 18 September 2026: The iPhone 18 Pro goes on sale from Rs 1,64,900, with up to Rs 7,000 card cashback.
  5. 8-9 October 2026: Big Billion Days 2026 opens, with the iPhone 17 named at Rs 84,999 and the 16 Pro still sitting at Rs 1,09,900 on the live listing.

The iPhone 16 Pro that pulled people into Flipkart’s 2025 sale is still on the site. It is Rs 1,09,900 unless a Rs 4,000 card cut applies, it is not on Apple’s shop, and the 8 October early-access window is where a new tag would have to appear if this year’s sale is going to move it again.
