The 25th Tbilisi International Film Festival is ready to make a grand return, beginning December 1 at Amirani Cinema, showcasing a diverse array of films, including the Georgian feature Holy Electricity by Tato Kotetishvili.
The Tbilisi International Film Festival (TIFF), one of the most anticipated cultural events in Georgia, is all set to kick off on December 1. Held at Amirani Cinema, the festival will open with the screening of Holy Electricity, a film by Georgian director Tato Kotetishvili. This marks the beginning of a week-long celebration of cinema, which will bring together a mix of international and local talent.
This year, TIFF will feature a packed competition program with a blend of feature and short films. The competition includes five feature films and 15 short films in the fiction category, as well as six feature-length and nine short documentaries. The films will be reviewed by an international jury panel consisting of experts from Turkey, Hungary, and Switzerland, with feature documentaries being specifically judged by professionals from Germany, France, and Lithuania.
In addition to the competitive screenings, TIFF will present several special events designed to enrich the festival experience. Highlights include the European Forum, the Academy of European Cinema, and the Student Film Section—offering a platform for young filmmakers to showcase their work.
As the festival progresses, the excitement will build toward the traditional award ceremony. At the end of the week, the best films across various categories will be recognized, adding an extra layer of anticipation for all festival-goers.
This year’s festival promises to be a dynamic celebration of global cinema, spotlighting emerging talent and established filmmakers alike. Whether you’re a film enthusiast, a critic, or simply someone looking to explore the vibrant world of cinema, the Tbilisi International Film Festival is an event you won’t want to miss.
