Police Disperse Protesters, Confrontation Ensues
The protest had begun the previous night, with demonstrators setting up camp on Chavchavadze Avenue. Law enforcement officers arrived at dawn and urged the protesters to disband. When the protesters refused to comply, police dismantled their tents, leading to a physical confrontation between some participants and the authorities.
Despite the dispersal efforts, the protesters regrouped and moved to Melikishvili Street. They are currently gathering near the Philharmonic Hall, continuing their rally.
Ongoing Tensions
The protest and subsequent arrests reflect heightened tensions in Tbilisi, with demonstrators voicing their concerns on the streets of the capital. The situation remains fluid, and further developments are expected as the protestors remain active in the area.
