Second suspect in custody
The brother-in-law of a Georgia mother-of-four who was found dead after being missing for more than two weeks has been arrested as part of a murder investigation, authorities said on Tuesday. Cedarius Glaze, 28, is accused of helping to dispose of the body of Imani Roberson, who was allegedly killed by her husband Donell Anderson.
Glaze was arrested after investigators received a tip about his location, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. He has been charged with tampering with evidence, concealment of a dead body and arson, authorities said. He was transported from the Rockdale County Jail to South Fulton, where his alleged crimes were committed.
The sheriff’s office said it has “strong evidence” that Glaze played “a key role” in the disposal of Roberson’s body, which was recovered on Friday after a lengthy search. Roberson had been missing since July 16, when she left her mother’s house in Conyers with two of her children. Her car was later found burned and in pieces in the Atlanta area.
Husband charged with murder
Roberson’s husband, Donell Anderson, was arrested on Friday night and charged with felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission to attempt a felony, according to Rockdale County online records. He was represented by a public defender in an initial court appearance on Sunday morning.
Anderson is accused of killing his wife at their home in Conyers and then enlisting his brother’s help to get rid of her body and destroy evidence, the sheriff’s office said. Blood was found in Roberson’s home and multiple other places, authorities said. Investigators became suspicious of foul play when they visited the home after Roberson was reported missing by her mother on July 17.
Roberson and Anderson had been married for about a year and had a one-month-old baby together, along with three other children from previous relationships, according to Roberson’s family. They said Roberson was a loving and devoted mother who worked as a nurse and had no known enemies.
Family devastated by loss
Roberson’s mother, Clarine Andujar-White, said she knew something was wrong when she could not reach her daughter almost three weeks ago. She said she had dinner with Roberson and her four children on July 16 and that Roberson left with two of them to go back home. The other two children stayed at the grandmother’s house.
The next day, Andujar-White called her daughter repeatedly and grew concerned when she did not answer. She went to her home but found no one there. She filed a missing persons report and pleaded for the public’s help to find her daughter.
“When I couldn’t reach Imani almost three weeks ago, I knew something was wrong,” Andujar-White said in a statement released by the sheriff’s office on Saturday. “My worst fears were confirmed yesterday when I learned that my daughter had been murdered.”
Andujar-White said she was grateful for the efforts of law enforcement and the community to bring justice for her daughter. She also thanked everyone who prayed for her family and offered support during this difficult time.
“She was my only child and I loved her more than anything,” Andujar-White said. “She was a beautiful person inside and out. She had so much to live for and so much more to give.”
