EU4Youth and Danish Youth Council Empower Youth NGOs in Georgia

In a groundbreaking initiative, the EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment project collaborated with Youth NGOs operating in Georgia to host an international seminar. The event focused on evolving youth organizations through youth involvement and participatory approaches. From June 3 to 9, Georgia became the vibrant backdrop for this transformative gathering, which brought together around thirty representatives from Youth NGOs across the Eastern Partnership Countries and Denmark.

Building Capacity for Youth Participation

The seminar aimed to strengthen youth participation and support youth initiatives within local communities. Here are the key objectives of the capacity-building program:

  1. Motivating Youth Members: Participants learned effective tools for motivating members of youth organizations and increasing their engagement. By fostering a sense of purpose and commitment, these tools empower young leaders to drive positive change.

  1. Democratic Organizational Culture: The development of a democratic organizational culture was a central theme. Youth organizations explored ways to promote inclusivity, transparency, and collaboration. Creating an environment where diverse voices are heard ensures sustainable growth and impact.
  2. Intercultural Dialogue: The seminar facilitated meaningful exchanges between youth organizations from Denmark, Moldova, Georgia, and Ukraine. By sharing experiences and perspectives, participants enriched their understanding of cross-cultural dynamics and learned from each other’s successes and challenges.

Empowering Youth for a Brighter Future

The Danish Youth Council (DUF) spearheaded this initiative in partnership with the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project. Co-funded by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ), the project was expertly implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
