A popular New Orleans whiskey bar is making its way to Atlanta. Barrel Proof, known for its extensive selection of whiskeys and craft cocktails, is preparing to open a new location at Westside Provisions District, bringing its signature atmosphere to the city.
Bringing the Big Easy to Atlanta
Barrel Proof has been a staple in New Orleans’ Garden District for years, offering a laid-back yet refined drinking experience. In 2023, the bar expanded beyond Louisiana, setting up shop in Nashville. Now, Atlanta is next on the list, with plans to open at 1170 Howell Mill Road NW.
The project was confirmed through a building permit application filed with the City of Atlanta. According to the permit, the new location will undergo interior renovations and some limited demolition to prepare the space. The 3,167-square-foot site will see an estimated $312,250 in construction work before welcoming patrons.
What to Expect From Barrel Proof
Whiskey lovers will find plenty to enjoy at Barrel Proof. The bar’s website boasts nearly 400 whiskey options, with the team joking that they “stopped counting at 390.” The extensive selection covers everything from bourbon and rye to international varieties, ensuring there’s something for every palate.
Beyond whiskey, the bar also offers a range of craft cocktails, beer, and late-night bites. It typically operates from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., making it a go-to spot for those looking to wind down after work or enjoy a night out.
