Breakfast Boom: Huddle House Expands in Georgia with New Pembroke Location

A Georgia-based breakfast franchise is adding another location to its growing empire. The Wiggins family, longtime Huddle House franchisees, is bringing a new restaurant to Pembroke, further cementing its footprint in small-town markets where the brand thrives.

Wiggins Family Bets Big on Huddle House

Robert Wiggins Jr. has been in the franchise game for years, running multiple Huddle House locations across Georgia. His latest venture in Pembroke is just another chapter in a long history of restaurant ownership that runs deep in his family.

His son, Trey Wiggins, is spearheading the expansion. He says if everything stays on track, Pembroke’s new Huddle House should be ready to serve customers by late summer.

The Wiggins family isn’t stopping there. As part of the deal, they’ve also taken over two previously corporate-owned locations in Douglas and one in Swainsboro. That’s in addition to the restaurants they already operate in Hazlehurst, Baxley, Alma, Claxton, and Reidsville.

Why Pembroke? Small Town, Big Potential

The decision to bring Huddle House to Pembroke wasn’t random. According to Trey Wiggins, the town checks all the right boxes for the brand.

  • Small communities with limited sit-down dining options are where Huddle House tends to do well.
  • Local residents appreciate a reliable, full-service breakfast option.
  • Pembroke’s economic growth, including Hyundai’s planned manufacturing facility, is expected to bring thousands of jobs and an influx of new residents.

For the Wiggins family, it’s a no-brainer. They believe the town is primed for a breakfast hotspot that serves customers all day long.

A Family Tradition in Franchising

Trey Wiggins isn’t the first in his family to dive into the restaurant business. His grandfather made a name for himself with Hardee’s in 1978, at one point owning 26 locations before selling them in the mid-90s.

Robert Wiggins Jr. followed a similar path, investing in various franchises and independent restaurants over the years. Now, with Trey stepping up, the family is keeping its entrepreneurial spirit alive through Huddle House.

Huddle House’s Steady Growth

Huddle House isn’t just growing in Georgia—the brand continues to expand nationwide. Since opening in Decatur, Georgia, in 1964, the franchise has grown to more than 300 locations across the U.S.

Over the last two years, more than 10 franchise owners have reinvested in the brand, signing new agreements to open additional restaurants. The model seems to be working, and franchisees like the Wiggins family see plenty of room for growth.

What’s on the Menu?

Huddle House isn’t just about breakfast—it’s about comfort food served any time of day. The menu includes a mix of classic diner fare, from omelets and breakfast tacos to burgers and sandwiches.

If you ask Trey Wiggins, he’ll tell you to go for the Meat Lover’s Omelet. But he also swears by the pancakes and crispy hashbrowns, two staples that keep customers coming back.

With another location on the horizon, the Wiggins family is betting that Pembroke will be the next small town to embrace the Huddle House experience.
