The supermodel and TV host is looking forward to her milestone birthday with confidence and gratitude.
Tyra Banks, the former America’s Next Top Model host and current Dancing with the Stars host, is not afraid of turning 50 on December 4, 2023. She is taking inspiration from other stars who have recently celebrated their 50th birthdays, such as Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, and Jennifer Aniston.
Banks told the Daily Mail at the Como 1907 charity gala in Villa Erba, Italy on November 16, that she is excited to join the club of 50-year-old women who are “fiercer than ever”. She said, “When I was younger, 50 was old, right? It was like a grandma age or something. Now I look at Jennifer Lopez, I look at Halle Berry, I look at Jennifer Aniston, and I’m like, ‘What the hell is 50?’”
Banks also shared a secret for why she feels good about herself ahead of her upcoming birthday. She said, “I do think one secret is extra weight, because I’ve not been too skinny. I think if you’re really skinny, it will age your face. So I think a bit of juice, as it keeps the face nice and juicy naturally. I haven’t had injections.”
The supermodel has embraced her curves and her natural beauty.
Banks, who started her modeling career at the age of 15, has been vocal about body positivity and diversity in the fashion industry. She has also been open about having a nose job early in her career, but has not had any other cosmetic procedures since then. She said, “I’m not anti [injections] — maybe one day I will, but I haven’t done it yet.”
She also revealed that she does not have the same body as she did when she was on the runways, but she is grateful for the opportunities that have allowed her to showcase her curves and her personality. She recently starred in designer Karen Millen’s latest ICONS campaign, which featured tailored pieces that looked good on different body types.
Banks said, “I look in the mirror and I don’t feel 50. I think 50 is the new 30s. There’s evolution.”
The TV host has a busy and fulfilling career and personal life.
Banks, who is also an actress, producer, author, and entrepreneur, has a lot to celebrate besides her birthday. She is the host and executive producer of the popular reality show Dancing with the Stars, which is currently in its 30th season. She is also the founder and CEO of Bankable Productions, which produces shows such as America’s Next Top Model, The Tyra Banks Show, and FABLife.
Banks is also a mother to her 6-year-old son York, whom she shares with her ex-partner Erik Asla. She has been dating Canadian businessman Louis Bélanger-Martin since 2019, and the couple has been spotted enjoying romantic vacations and outings together.
Banks has said that she is happy and fulfilled with her life, and that she is looking forward to the next chapter. She said, “I’m living my best life. I’m living my dream.”
