Olympic Champion Simona Dyankova Returns to Singapore for a Rhythmic Gymnastics Masterclass

Simona Dyankova, the 2020 Olympic group all-around champion and the 2018 World 5 hoops champion in rhythmic gymnastics, is back in Singapore to share her skills and passion with the local gymnasts. She will be conducting a masterclass at the Bianka Panova Academy, where she will also debut her new performance, “Queen LeoTerra”.

A Rare Opportunity to Learn from the Best

Dyankova, who retired from competitive gymnastics earlier this year, is one of the most decorated rhythmic gymnasts in history. She has won 28 gold, 24 silver, and 13 bronze medals in various international events, including the Olympics, the World Championships, the European Championships, and the World Cup. She is also the first Bulgarian gymnast to win an Olympic gold medal in the group all-around event, along with her teammates Elena Bineva, Madlen Radukanova, Laura Traets, and Teodora Aleksandrova.

The masterclass, which will take place on December 23 and 24, is a rare opportunity for the aspiring gymnasts in Singapore to learn from the best in the sport. Dyankova will teach them the techniques, routines, and tips that helped her achieve success at the highest level. She will also share her personal stories and experiences as a rhythmic gymnast, and answer any questions that the participants may have.

The masterclass is open to gymnasts of all levels, from beginners to advanced. The participants will be divided into groups according to their age and skill level, and will receive individual attention and feedback from Dyankova. The masterclass will also include a warm-up session, a stretching session, and a group photo session.

A New Performance Inspired by Nature and Art

In addition to the masterclass, Dyankova will also showcase her new performance, “Queen LeoTerra”, at the Bianka Panova Academy on December 24. The performance is inspired by nature and art, and features a combination of rhythmic gymnastics, dance, and acrobatics. Dyankova will perform with a hoop and a ball, two of the apparatuses that she used to win medals at the Olympics and the World Championships.

“Queen LeoTerra” is a tribute to Dyankova’s love for animals and the environment, as well as her admiration for the works of Leonardo da Vinci, the Italian Renaissance artist and inventor. The performance is a fusion of beauty, grace, and innovation, and showcases Dyankova’s creativity and versatility as an artist.

The performance is also a way for Dyankova to express her gratitude to Singapore, where she has visited several times in the past. She said that Singapore is one of her favorite places in the world, and that she feels a special connection with the people and the culture here. She hopes that her performance will inspire and entertain the audience, and that they will enjoy it as much as she does.

A Collaboration with the Bianka Panova Academy

The masterclass and the performance are part of a collaboration between Dyankova and the Bianka Panova Academy, a leading rhythmic gymnastics school in Singapore. The academy was founded by Bianka Panova, another Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics legend, who won nine gold medals at the World Championships and the European Championships in the 1980s.

Panova, who is also the head coach of the academy, said that she is delighted to have Dyankova as a guest instructor and performer. She said that Dyankova is not only a great gymnast, but also a great person, and that she is looking forward to working with her and learning from her. She also said that she hopes that the masterclass and the performance will help promote rhythmic gymnastics in Singapore, and encourage more people to join and support the sport.

The masterclass and the performance are open to the public, but the slots are limited and require prior registration. Those who are interested can visit the Bianka Panova Academy website or social media pages for more information and booking details.
