Philly Tech Week, the annual celebration of technology and innovation in the city, will return for its 14th edition from May 3 to May 11, 2024. The event will be organized as a partnership between Technical.ly, the news organization that serves a community of tech professionals, and 1Philadelphia, the citywide initiative founded in 2021 to advance a more equitable tech economy.
What is 1Philadelphia?
1Philadelphia is a coalition of public, private and nonprofit stakeholders that aims to make Philadelphia a more inclusive and diverse tech hub. The initiative was launched in 2021 by Mayor Jim Kenney, who appointed former Comcast executive Dalila Wilson-Scott as the city’s first Chief Equity Officer. 1Philadelphia’s mission is to:
- Increase access and opportunity for underrepresented groups in tech, such as women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals and people with disabilities.
- Support the growth and development of local tech talent, especially from low-income and marginalized communities.
- Foster collaboration and innovation among tech entrepreneurs, investors, educators, policymakers and civic leaders.
- Promote the social and environmental impact of tech solutions for the city’s most pressing challenges.

What to expect from Philly Tech Week 2024?
Philly Tech Week 2024 will feature a mix of in-person and virtual events, organized by dozens of partners from the tech community and beyond. The events will cover a wide range of topics, such as advanced manufacturing, life sciences, smart cities, cybersecurity, gaming, social justice, education, arts and culture, and more.
Some of the highlights of Philly Tech Week 2024 include:
- The Technical.ly Developers Conference, a full-day event for software engineers, web developers, data scientists and other tech enthusiasts, featuring workshops, panels, demos and networking opportunities. The conference will take place on Tuesday, May 10, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
- Introduced, Technical.ly’s company-building conference, a full-day event for tech entrepreneurs, investors, leaders and innovators, featuring keynote speakers, breakout sessions, pitch competitions and expo booths. The conference will take place on Thursday, May 12, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
- The Signature Event, the grand finale of Philly Tech Week, a festive evening of celebration, recognition and entertainment, featuring awards, performances, food and drinks. The event will take place on Saturday, May 11, at a TBD location.
