Chaos Erupts as Flames Spread Fast
The fire broke out late Saturday night in the heart of the capital, Skopje. Witnesses described scenes of sheer panic as flames engulfed the club within minutes, leaving patrons scrambling for exits. The venue, known for its lively music and bustling crowds, was reportedly hosting a sold-out event.
“It happened so fast — one second we were dancing, and the next, people were screaming and running. The smoke was everywhere,” said Andreja Petrovski, a survivor who managed to escape through a back exit.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the fire’s intensity made rescue efforts dangerously difficult. Local officials confirmed that the fire spread rapidly due to the club’s interior design, which included flammable decorations and soundproofing foam.
Overcrowding and Safety Violations Raise Alarming Questions
Authorities are now investigating whether overcrowding and safety lapses contributed to the high death toll. The club was licensed for 250 guests but is believed to have been hosting well over 400 people at the time of the fire.
Preliminary reports point to multiple safety violations:

This catastrophe joins a grim list of nightclub fires worldwide. In 2013, Brazil’s Kiss nightclub fire claimed 242 lives. Romania’s Colectiv club fire in 2015 killed 64 and led to widespread protests over corruption and safety neglect.
