A Day of Fierce Competition

The “Frost Bite” Barrel Race offered a chance for skilled riders and their horses to test their speed and precision in a timed cloverleaf pattern. With 200 contestants competing, the event drew participants from not just Georgia, but also Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. Perry natives were among the competitors, showcasing their home-turf advantage as they faced off against riders from neighboring states.

Riders and their horses had to race around three barrels in a cloverleaf pattern as quickly as possible without knocking them over.
