Four people drowned in the Dzusa river in Terjola municipality

Four young people lost their lives in a tragic drowning incident that occurred on Saturday night in the Dzusa river in the village of Zeda Sazano in Terjola municipality, Georgia. The victims were locals from the village – a father and son – and two visitors.

According to the media reports, the incident happened when a man lost his foot and fell into the water, after which the accompanying persons went into the water to help him, but they were swept away by the river. The bodies of all four victims were found in the river by rescuers of the Emergency Management Service of Georgia. Another person pulled out of the river was taken to a medical facility.

The Dzusa river is a popular destination for tourists and locals who enjoy its scenic beauty and recreational activities. However, it also poses a risk of drowning accidents due to its strong current and depth.
