Forest Park Launches Home Repair Program for Senior Citizens

Forest Park, a city in Clayton County, Georgia, has announced a new home repair program to help senior citizens in the community. The program, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will provide grants of up to $5,000 to eligible homeowners who need to make essential repairs or improvements to their homes.

Eligibility and Application Process

The home repair program is open to Forest Park residents who are 62 years or older, own and occupy their homes, and have a household income below 80% of the area median income. The program will prioritize applicants who have urgent or emergency repair needs, such as roof leaks, plumbing issues, electrical hazards, or accessibility barriers.

To apply for the program, interested homeowners must fill out an application form and provide proof of income, property ownership, and homeowners insurance. The application period will run from January 15 to February 15, 2024. Applicants will be notified of their status by March 15, 2024.
