Embraer’s E195-E2 “Tech Eagle” takes flight with a stunning new livery

Embraer, the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, has unveiled a new livery for its E195-E2 “Profit Hunter” demonstrator aircraft, featuring a cybernetic eagle design on the nose and a metallic brown and blue color scheme. The new livery, dubbed “Tech Eagle”, reflects the high-tech features and excellent performance of the E2 series, which offers a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and 25% less emissions compared to previous models.

The inspiration behind the “Tech Eagle”

The “Tech Eagle” livery was created by an Embraer employee who wanted to capture the strength and keenness of the world’s most powerful natural species in the Profit Hunter’s designs. The eagle motif also evokes the “eagle-like efficiency and quiet flight” of the E2 aircraft, according to Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.

The “Tech Eagle” is the latest in a series of creative liveries that Embraer has applied to its E2 demonstrators, which include a “Shark Profit Hunter” for the E175-E2, a “Tiger Profit Hunter” for the E190-E2, and a “Snow Leopard Profit Hunter” for another E195-E2. These liveries are intended to showcase the unique characteristics and capabilities of each aircraft model, as well as to attract the attention of potential customers and the public.

The transformation of the “Tech Eagle”

The aircraft selected for the “Tech Eagle” makeover, registered as PR-ZIQ, is a six-year-old E195-E2 that has been used for demonstration flights around the world. The painting work was carried out at Maastricht Airport in the Netherlands, where MAAS Aviation, a leading aircraft painting company, operates a state-of-the-art facility.

The new design retains the metallic brown background of the previous livery, but the lines, letters, and Embraer logo have been elegantly transitioned to a light blue color. The most striking feature of the “Tech Eagle” livery is the stylized eagle head that covers the nose and frontal part of the fuselage, replacing the previous lion motif. The eagle design is composed of geometric shapes and patterns that resemble a cybernetic creature, highlighting the technological advancements of the E2 series.

The debut of the “Tech Eagle”

The “Tech Eagle” is slated to make its debut at the Dubai Air Show, scheduled for November 13th to 17th, where it will join the other E2 demonstrators to showcase the new generation of Embraer jets. The E2 series is the result of a $1.8 billion investment program that aims to deliver the most efficient, spacious, and comfortable aircraft in the single-aisle market.

The E195-E2 is the largest and most advanced model in the E2 series, with a capacity of up to 146 passengers and a range of up to 2,600 nautical miles. The aircraft features a new wing design, improved aerodynamics, and Pratt & Whitney’s PW1900G engines, which offer lower noise, emissions, and operating costs. The E195-E2 also boasts a spacious and flexible cabin, with no middle seats, larger overhead bins, and a modern inflight entertainment system.

The E195-E2 has received 153 firm orders and 47 options from 13 customers worldwide, including Azul, KLM, Binter, Helvetic Airways, and Air Peace. The first E195-E2 was delivered to Azul in September 2019, and since then, the aircraft has proven its reliability and performance, achieving a dispatch reliability of 99.7% and a fuel savings of 25.4% per seat.

Embraer’s creative rebranding of its demo aircraft reinforces its dedication to pushing the boundaries of technology and performance, inspiring airlines and leasing companies to explore the possibilities offered by the E2 series. The “Tech Eagle” is a testament to the company’s innovative spirit and commitment to leaving a lasting impression in the aviation industry.
