A sanctuary for Clayton adaptive sports team
The Clayton Eagles Adaptive Sports Program is more than just a team, it is a family. They have found a sanctuary at the former Lovejoy Middle School, where they have access to a gymnasium, a cafeteria, a locker room, and a classroom. They have also received generous donations from various sponsors, such as The Home Depot Foundation, The Atlanta Hawks Foundation, The Atlanta Braves Foundation, and The Atlanta Falcons Foundation. These donations have helped them purchase equipment, uniforms, and transportation for their players and coaches.
The Clayton Eagles have also received tremendous support from the Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) district, which has recognized the importance and value of adaptive sports for students with disabilities. The CCPS district has provided the Clayton Eagles with a facility, a budget, and a staff. They have also allowed the Clayton Eagles to compete under the GHSA banner, which is a rare privilege for adaptive sports teams.
The Clayton Eagles are grateful for all the support and opportunities they have received from their community and their district. They are proud to represent Clayton County and to show the world what they are capable of. They are not only playing for themselves, but also for their peers, their families, and their fans. They are the Clayton Eagles, and they are ready to soar!
