CCPS Kicks Off the New School Year

The start of a new school year is always filled with anticipation, excitement, and a touch of nervousness. This year, Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) welcomed students and educators back with open arms, ensuring a smooth transition into the 2022-2023 academic year.

A Fresh Beginning

As the sun rose on August 26, 2022, approximately 28,000 Charles County students and 2,100 teachers eagerly stepped into their classrooms. The hallways buzzed with chatter, backpacks slung over shoulders, and the promise of new friendships and knowledge. It was a day of fresh beginnings, where students could leave behind the memories of summer and embrace the challenges and opportunities that awaited them.

Dress Code Changes

One notable change this year was the implementation of a revised dress code policy. Designed to maintain a respectful and focused learning environment, the policy restricts suggestive, provocative, or excessively tight clothing. Students adjusted their wardrobes accordingly, ensuring they adhered to the new guidelines while expressing their individuality.

Wellness Wednesday Outreach

In an effort to prioritize student well-being, CCPS introduced “Wellness Wednesday.” This initiative encourages students to take a break from their academic pursuits and engage in activities that promote mental and physical health. From mindfulness exercises to outdoor yoga sessions, Wellness Wednesday aims to foster a balanced and resilient student body.
