The 2024 Australian Small Business Champion Awards are now open for entries, inviting small business owners from across the country to showcase their achievements and innovations. The awards program, which is in its 26th year, recognises the excellence and contribution of small businesses in various sectors, including retail, services, and manufacturing.
A national platform for small business recognition
The awards program, which is presented by CommBank, features over 100 categories and special spotlight categories, such as Business of the Decade, Small Business Young Entrepreneur, Small Business Entrepreneur, and the 2024 Growth Award. The winners of these categories will receive national recognition and exposure, as well as a trophy, a certificate, and a promotional package.
The awards program also aims to celebrate the economic, social, and cultural impact of small businesses in Australia. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, small businesses employ 5.1 million Australians and account for one-third of Australia’s GDP. Moreover, small businesses play a vital role in supporting local communities, especially during challenging times.
Steve Loe, the founder and managing director of Precedent Productions, the company behind the awards program, said that he was inspired by the resilience and success of small business operators in Australia.
“Even after more than two decades of presenting the Australian Small Business Champion Awards, I am still in absolute awe of the resilience and remarkable triumphs of our nation’s small business operators. It is truly a privilege to help shine a deserved spotlight on these small business champions,” he said.
