A partnership to support service members and veterans
Amazon and The Warrior Alliance, a non-profit organization that helps service members and veterans transition to civilian life, teamed up to fulfill holiday wish lists for 60 Georgia military families. The selected families received more than 600 gifts and essential items at The Warrior Alliance offices on Monday, December 20, 2023.
The event was part of an ongoing collaboration between Amazon and The Warrior Alliance, which started during the holiday season of 2022 and continues throughout the year. The Warrior Alliance helps recruit for Amazon, providing career opportunities and training for service members and veterans. Amazon also supports The Warrior Alliance’s programs and services, such as housing, education, health, and wellness.
A festive and joyful atmosphere
The families that participated in the event represented installations throughout Clayton, Cobb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, and Rockdale counties. They were greeted by a festive and joyful atmosphere, with decorations, music, and refreshments. They also had the chance to meet and mingle with other military families and members of Amazon and The Warrior Alliance.
The gifts and items that the families received were based on their individual needs and preferences. They included toys, bikes, clothing, household supplies, and electronics. The families expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the generous gesture, which helped them celebrate the holiday season and ease their financial burdens.
A way to say thank you
Territa Rodgers, Amazon’s Atlanta-area community affairs representative, said that the event was a way to show appreciation and respect for the service and sacrifice of the military community. She said that Amazon was proud to partner with The Warrior Alliance and support their mission of empowering service members and veterans.
Jarrad Turner, a veteran and the director of operations at The Warrior Alliance, said that the event was a way to say thank you and give back to the military families. He said that the event also highlighted the importance of connecting the military community with the civilian community and creating a network of support and resources.
Isabella Garner, a service member since 2015 and one of the recipients of the gifts, said that the event was a blessing and a relief for her and her family. She said that the event made her feel valued and appreciated, and that it also brought joy and happiness to her children.
