Bulldogs dominate Vanderbilt to stay unbeaten
The Georgia Bulldogs continued their impressive start to the season with a 62-0 rout of the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday. The Bulldogs improved to 5-0 and maintained their No. 1 ranking in the USA TODAY Sports ACFA College Football Coaches Poll. Georgia received 59 of the 64 first-place votes from the panel of coaches, while Michigan, Ohio State, Texas and Washington each received one.
Georgia’s defense has been dominant all season, allowing only 23 points in five games. The Bulldogs have shut out two opponents and have not allowed more than 13 points in any game. Georgia’s offense has also been efficient, averaging 41.4 points per game behind quarterback Stetson Bennett, who has thrown nine touchdowns and no interceptions.
Michigan edges Ohio State for No. 2 spot
The Michigan Wolverines moved up to No. 2 in the poll after a convincing 38-17 win over Wisconsin on Saturday. The Wolverines are also 5-0 and received one first-place vote from the coaches. Michigan has been balanced on both sides of the ball, ranking in the top 10 nationally in scoring offense and defense.
The Ohio State Buckeyes dropped to No. 3 in the poll despite a 52-13 win over Rutgers on Saturday. The Buckeyes are 4-0 and received two first-place votes from the coaches. Ohio State has been explosive on offense, averaging 48.5 points per game behind quarterback C.J. Stroud, who has thrown 13 touchdowns and three interceptions.
Texas rises to No. 4 after Red River Showdown win
The Texas Longhorns climbed to No. 4 in the poll after a thrilling 48-45 win over Oklahoma in the Red River Showdown on Saturday. The Longhorns are 5-0 and received one first-place vote from the coaches. Texas has been led by running back Bijan Robinson, who has rushed for 748 yards and nine touchdowns.
The Florida State Seminoles fell to No. 5 in the poll after a narrow 31-28 win over North Carolina on Saturday. The Seminoles are 4-0 and did not receive any first-place votes from the coaches. Florida State has been relying on its defense, which ranks second nationally in yards allowed per game.

The Oklahoma Sooners dropped to No. 12 in the poll after a heartbreaking loss to Texas on Saturday. The Sooners are 5-0 and will face No. 19 Utah on Saturday in a Big 12 battle.
