Trouble for Elon Musk over Tesla layoffs

Trouble for Elon Musk: Tesla is a leading manufacturer of electric cars in the United States. Elon Musk, the company’s CEO, is known for his action. As a result, Tesla laid off several employees without prior notice (notice period).

Employees say the company violates U.S. legal rules that require prior notice before dismissing employees’ crimes have been expressed. Two employees of Tesla’s Giga factory in Nevada, USA, who claimed they were fired last June, filed a lawsuit against the company in a Texas court last Sunday.

They state in their petition that more than 500 workers were fired from the Nevada factory without any prior notice.

The 60-day notice period

states that workers must be given 60 days’ notice in the event of a massive layoff. But employees say Tesla has not complied.

Employees lamenting online

Employees of Tesla have been lamenting on social media that they have been fired. The petition seeks a court order requiring Tesla to pay 60 days’ compensation.

The lawyer representing the employees said that it was shocking that Tesla did not follow any legal rules and engaged in blatant irregularities. He accused Tesla of firing employees with just one week’s notice.
